I checked out three showcases this evening. The first gig I went to was the “One Night Stand” showcase presented by Taylor Mitsopulos Klein Oballa. Robyn Dell Unto kicked off the show. I really like Robyn – not only is she a talented musician, but she’s also quite the comedian! Every song has an accompanying story. At times, she comes across as crude, but her honesty provokes a good chuckle.  Towards the end of her show she brought up her older sister to sing a duet for their uncle who had just passed away two weeks ago. Truly touching. Robyn finished her set with a fun rendition of Teenage Dirtbag where the audience joined in! I headedWest on Queen to catch The Gentleman Reg showcase to quickly see Creature. They put on a fun and energetic show! I headed back East to the Bovine to see Organ Thieves. Unfortunately, front-man Chuck Coles’ vocals were overpowered by the music, but otherwise was a wicked performance! Throughout the evening I took a fair amount of video footage. I look forward to sharing it with you all.
