Here’s some of my favorite acts from day 3:

Eels

I caught the second half of Eels set simply because I was in the vicinity. The sound had simply caught my attention and drew me in. Their uniforms were curious; all members of the band wore sunglasses, were unshaven and were dressed to the nines.

The Sounds

Maja Ivarsson reminds me of an older version of The Pretty Reckless’ vocalist, Taylor Momsen. The Sounds’ frontwoman lead the group with fast-paced dance punk.
Cypress Hill

Cypress Hill was by far the smokiest performance of the festival. Rappers B-Real and Sen Dog wowed the crowd as they dropped some of their classic hits. The audience went absolutely loco when B-Real sparked a joint and proceded to smoke it while performing, “I Want To Get High”.
Ellie Goulding
5:35 – 6:15

Due to a prolonged soundcheck, Ellie Goulding’s started later than expected. Her tardiness was excusable as her shortened set was so enjoyable. She has such a charismatic personality. Goulding encouraged her fans to dance as she sang and playfully rocked out on the drums.

Watch this space for an upcoming and in-depth article about my 2011 Osheaga experience.
