Hometown performers make good and Lupe slays this year’s ONExONE benefit concert at Kool Haus. In the midst of the TIFF mayhem comes a solid hip-hop show, ONExONE: a non-profit foundation committed to helping children in need. The evening commenced with Toronto native, Melanie Fiona, who was accompanied with a DJ and two back up vocalists. Beatboxer, Scott Jackson graced the stage for a wicked collaboration.

Next set, Toronto’s very own Kardinal Offishall. Attendees were armed with towels and whistles to get pumped.

Lupe Fiasco’s performance was exceptional. His performance at Osheaga doesn’t even compare. This Hip-Hop show was leaning more towards a rock show. Lupe is more than a performer, he’s an athlete. For an hour and a half he sang, danced, marched, jumped, leaped and emptied his water bottles onto the audience. So much energy and never a dull moment.
